Tri-C Clinical sites

Hello everyone. My question is where does Tri-C hold their clinical sites. I plan to hopefully get accepted into Fall 2017 generic program at the Metro campus. I've read on here that some people go to Marymount and southwest. I'm worried that some of the sites might be to far for me to get to and thats hindering me from continuing the application process.

You may want to call the school and see if they can give you a general idea of how far you can expect to travel for clinicals.

I don't know if it applies to the majority of nursing schools in the country or not, but I know that others schools in my area can send you out as far as two hours away. With so many schools, sometimes it can be hard to secure clinical spots. So it could vary year to year, but they may be able to give you an idea based on previous years. They may not be able to provide specifics as some details may not be ironed out until closer to the given clinical, but hopefully it'd give you an idea.

Do you not drive? I didn't go to Tri-C, but some of their students were at the same clinical sites as me. I remember more than one saying how grateful they were most if their sites were accessible by public transportation. That said, I've spoken to a kit of students who've had to travel longer than an hour to their sites. You have to decide if it's worth it, it absolutely was for me. Also, not sure if this helps cuz it was ages ago, but I saw Tri-C students at Metro, St. Vincent, and Metro Skilled East. That last one closed, so I'm not sure who took their place

I attend Tri-C at the metro campus and all of the clinical sites were all near public transportation. I am in 4th semester and I did not have to buy a car at all to get to my clinical sites.

Continue to application process. You never know how it may work out.

Thank you everyone. After much consideration I have decided to go on with the process. Just have to take the admissions test. Hopefully I'll get accepted to West Shore this spring.

Clinicals is by far my most favorite portion of nursing school. There are three hospitals which we perform clinicals at - all within a forty-five minute drive of our campus. Sometimes you just have to swallow the fact that you may have to travel to get to your clinical site. I do hope, for your sake, that you are able to have accessible clinical facilities within reason. But just remember, sometimes you may have to sacrifice a little time and commute to get good experience.

If worse comes to worse, you could look into carpooling to clinical sites with other nursing students. As other members have stated, most clinical sites are within a decent distance of public transportation hubs - which I hope is the instance in your case. Just keep on keepin' on. :) You got this.
