I start school in August. What would be your top ten things to buy before school starts in relation to school supplies. Not nursing essentials like BP cuff etc...just for studying and organization purposes. Thanks y'all :)

I would say black pens, highlighters, printing paper, extra ink cartridge on hand, printer, if you dont have one and thats assuming you have a computer, clipboard for clinicals, stapler, color coded sticky tabs for easy page access, notebooks for notes, pencil case, and Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

To cut down on things to carry if you have a "smart device", it will have a calculator already![/quote']Most schools won't let you use your smart device as a calculator. It's too easy to store info in them or look up formulas if you can't remember them. We are required to use a simple 4 function calculator.

So sorry- I forgot all about this thread and the chart. I won't have time the next two days, but will look at my old computer on Wednesday. If y'all don't hear from me, someone send me a reminder!

my favorite thing is my livescribe echo pen. I can listen to all recorded lectures at the palm of my hands. livescribe.com

Best thread ever. Thank you all! I will contribute as I go shopping! :) I was going to get a lilly planner but now I might go to that Ucalander. Very tempting

lots and lots of highlighters (mine constantly ran out because of all the reading we had to do. haha)
a planner to write all your assignments/test dates
a binder with dividers for each class
index cards
lots of printer paper/ink
some type of small notebook/pad that fits in your scrub pocket for clinical so you can write down stuff from report, vitals etc. or a clip board for clinical (first semester i would carry around my care plan for that day on a clip board but second semester I found a small notepad that fit in my scrub pocket easier because it kept my hands free)

Studying? Check out nclex review materials from the library over the subjects you're studying. A few years old are usually ok. The question books rock. They are free.
Notebooks
Different color pens or highlighters
