One girl who is OBSESSED with animals says "I really wanted to become a veterinarian but I can't handle seeing animals hurt, but humans I can" *****?

It's one thing to get that far and be so misinformed, but it's another to be so self-assured that she won't be corrected on things.During LPN schooling, one particular student was known for things she said that just made your jaw drop and/or shake your head. One particular thing I recall is her absolutely insisting that if people live together long enough they 'absorb' each others DNA and if tested their DNA would look much like siblings DNA would. Umm, yeah...ok...well they can 'absorb' DNA through exchanged body fluids but they don't then absorb that DNA into their cells! This was a grown woman in her early 40's with children and grandchildren..and she 100% believed what she was saying. Oh, the kicker was...it happens with pets too she claimed...have a pet long enough and the pet starts looking like the owner and vice versa (ok, I have seen some pet owners who do resemble their pets in an odd way..but geeeshhh I doubt they 'absorbed' the pets DNA).

- Nov 28, '12 by LCinTrainingWell, the probiotics question isn't THAT stupid. Women have been douching with plain yogurt since long before my great grandmammy, then they discovered the gel caps of it work well as a suppository and now they actually make gynecological probiotic suppositories. The idea of douching plain yogurt though...not sure I could ever get behind it,PinkCupcake likes this.
- Nov 29, '12 by Compassion_xQuote from LCinTrainingI've done it before. Desperate times = desperate measures! It was...cold. Really cold. And it didn't really help as I had BV and not yeast lol. But I was young(er) at the time.Well, the probiotics question isn't THAT stupid. - Nov 29, '12 by ChrisMarie09Talking about thrush and vaginal yeast infections are both caused by Canidida albicans. Student asks "So if its caused by the same organism, can you treat thrush with those vaginal tablets?" The entire class wanted to "face-palm" themselves (these types of questions are typical from from this girl) and the professor had no idea to respond.nguyency77 likes this.
- Nov 29, '12 by PalmHarborMomI guess that I have been sheltered here in Florida because I have never heard of a person using yogurt vaginally. Kinda gross!!HM-8404 likes this.

But I'm assuming that because she was passing (at the minimum level) both the lecture and clinical portions of the program they had no real grounds to dismiss her.Ugh... I figured she'd fail out sooner or later..but she learned to memorize the info for a test..then do a brain dump and forget it all after the test (still holding on to her 'beliefs')...not only did she pass and graduate...she passed the NCLEX...scarey!! I do hear that she has been fired from several jobs b/c of her attitude and unwillingness to take constructive critism...shocker

Long before the advent of pills or suppositories women have been shoving strange things in there to combat pain issues lol. Who got the idea originally? Now that's a question. I would love to ask them "what made you even think about that?"I guess that I have been sheltered here in Florida because I have never heard of a person using yogurt vaginally. Kinda gross!!
