Do you think its possible and okay for a nursing student to date a fellow nursing student. Can this get in the way of studying or is it just like dating in general?

Mature people can pull it off. We had a couple who married after graduation.

Same here. They dated last year of an ABSN program and got married the summer after graduation.

We have a couple that started dating in our ABSN program. I think as a long as there is maturity involved it isn't an issue.

I knew two couples who dated in my class (we graduated two years ago). One couple broke up during the program. They just started avoiding each other, sitting on the opposite ends of the class room and such. They both passed just fine and graduated. The other couple is currently engaged.

So not a big deal in my eyes unless you're distracting in class through PDA or fighting.

I don't see a problem as long as they keep their personal life outside the classroom. There were 2 people at my nursing school who graduated long before I did and dated and now are married with kids. As far as I know they did LPN,RN,and BSN together. Our school offers all.

I think it can be done if they are mature, like the other posters have said. There is a dating couple in my current class and it hasn't been a problem.

One of the persons in said couple dated someone at the hospital we do clinicals at (I work and go to school at the same hospital). So this coworker of mine told me that my classmate cheated on her, won't move out of her apartment so she moved elsewhere and still paid his rent. He then had my other classmate/his girlfriend move into that apartment my coworker was paying for. I felt bad for all the parties involved and I wish I never had heard any of it because now when I see my classmate I see her as the other woman and it's not fair. I only heard one side of the story. My point is, you never know if it can get messy.

Personally, I'd avoid casual relationships with classmates and coworkers. It inevitably gets awkward, and it's a layer of distraction you don't really need in school. If you feel a true connection with someone, explore it slowly. But if you're just looking to have fun, go for someone outside of your program.
