Nursing School changing criteria to pass classes

Hello,

I am a sophomore at my nursing school and when I first began it was required for nursing students to pass the class with a 75% or higher on their exams and have an overall score of a 75% or higher to pass the class (this included hw as well). Well now out of nowhere they have decided to change that rule and starting next fall you will need to pass your classes with an 80% or higher.

What is everyone else's minimum to pass their nursing classes at their nursing school?

78 to pass and my school does round.

Our requirements to pass are 82%. That is both exams and course. Anything below 82% you have to meet with the instructor to go over your exam. If we get below an 82% for the class we have to meet with the dean of nursing and see if we are permitted to renter the program again. Very strict with students and expectations are high.

I started this post awhile ago and to say the least I found out that majority of the teachers that teach our program are teaching us at a master's level for our courses. Im not saying that is a bad thing, but to teach us at that level and raise the bar to an 80% is steep. Majority of the students this semester are now failing including myself.

I heard awhile back that my school raised the bar to an 80% and the following semester did not have a high enough return rate or enough students in the classes because so many failed or dropped out that they had to put the average pass rate back down to a 75%

Ours is a 77%.

80% In the LPN program I am in. I don't find it too difficult except in adult nursing, right now I am thrilled to maintain my 89 in it, that class is about to eat me alive! I've wondered what the level of difficulty in the curriculum is among the schools with the different grade requirements. I admit that I am fairly obsessive about my grades though.
