In my LPN program IV therapy is apart of the the curriculum. Up until I believe 2009, it never was mandatory for LPN's then the NPA changed it saying it's no longer optional. I would have area's of concern/questioning to your program Director as to why you are not being IV certified, especially if it's for your RN/BSN. Good luck!

And failing as a mother/wife? Absolutely not! As I can image, your family is your life, and by improving your life/career, you are also improving theirs! Don't be so hard on yourself!

I understand. I am a single 20 year old mother of a 1 year old trying to do it all on my own, and guess what, I AM! Your kids will be so proud of you when you're done, of course your husband will be too, but most importantly you will be SO proud if yourself! Keep your head high. It's adjustment, but you'll figure out how to work with it, just like everything else that gets thrown at you in life you just learn to deal with it and keep going. In my opinion, I think you'll be more upset if you quit especially if you truly wanted to be a nurse! You can do it!! Breathe, and trust yourself.

It's going to be a long-haul, but if you want it bad enough, you'll do it. You can get through it, just remind yourself of all the reasons why you wanted to be a nurse to begin with! Also use your husband and children as part of your motivation. Where do you go to school at?

To the extent of my knowledge, I do not believe that any University or Community college splits A&P 1 and A&P 2 into one semester. The amount of information you learn is incredibly large and I would find it almost impossible for that to be done all in 16 weeks. For example: anatomical places, body cavities, body regions, axial skeleton, appendicular skeleton (lower and upper extremities) cellular level, tissues level, organ level & organ system level directional terms plus the systems is everything I learned in A&P 1 and then some. Your best bet would be to see if your local University offers summer classes, which most do, and to see if they offer a&p 2 in the summer so you can have both done before the fall! Good luck!

I'm 20 years old right now and graduate next year so September of 2015. I then plan on continuing my education for my BSN. If all goes as planned (which time will only tell because I got pregnant in the middle of school and ended up having to take a semester off when I had my daughter) I will be done with my BSN by 22/23 ish.

My school requires white shoes for clinicals as well. I bought a pair of sketchers, with memory foam and I'm totally in love with them! They were on the higher end of my price range I wanted to spend for shoes just for school, but they're worth it to me. Good luck! ☺️
