Nursing program accept online credit?

I need help, I have done a lot of research but have found controversial answers. I figured I would ask all of you. So, I am taking A&P l right now and I am taking A&P ll this upcoming fall semester, both online with lab (I know, it didn't sound good to me either) but the online labs are really awesome. Anyways I am 2 classes from having my AA and eligible to apply for the nursing program. Will the nursing program accept A&P online courses? I have heard it depends on the school blah blah blah, but we are also moving in the middle of fall semester AND have no clue where we are moving until September! So, I will not be applying for the nursing program at the school I am currently taking classes. So in general, will the program accept online A&P l ll with lab?

It really does depend on the school. I considered taking an online A&P while out of the country, but neither of the programs I applied to accepted it. Some may, as long as it is not listed on the transcript as an online course. Your best bet would be to call the programs you plan on applying to and ask them if they do accept it. Some are more strict.

It really does depend on the school and if you don't know where you're moving, it makes it hard to narrow it down. My school would not accept online labs but they accepted online lectures for all the sciences. I think chemistry may have been an exception for the online labs but they paid a lot of money for some sort of software plus then you didn't get the benefit of a second person to ask questions and explain stuff.

I took many classes online through a state community college and on my transcript there is NO indication that these were online classes at all... I did verify that the courses would be accepted prior to enrolling in them, but was surprised that there was no way of knowing that they were done online.

you may be out of luck if you are taking these classes at an exclusive online college - or if your transcript does denote online courses.. but it's worth some investigation.

Best of luck.

Good day,

My suggestion is that you find the course description from the school catalogue and either print it out from the Internet or photo copy it from the physical book. Once you find out where you are moving to, present your potential school with this information and ask them if they will accept the credits. You can do this with every school you are considering and even base your nursing program choice around this to save some time. Best hopes for you!!

Where are you taking the class? Straighterline will be obvious and may not be accepted as its ACE credit. At Penn State or other school with a brick& mortar school the transcript will likely not delineate online vs hybrid vs in person

Johns Hopkins accept online courses and deliver all pre reqs online themselves - anyone can take them (you don't have to be a student there or even applying) and they are apparently accepted most places.

Hope that helps!

I am taking mine at a state college as well! That would be awesome if it would just not show up on my transcript. Thanks so much!

I am taking the courses at Florida State College at Jacksonville. That would be great! Thanks so much! You all have helped me so much.

Many schools require an in-person lab component to all of the science prereq's. I know of one student who is trying to get into a California University and although the online anatomy class would technically be accepted, the transcript or course description has to indicate that it includes an in-person lab. This student is now in a rush to retake anatomy before the next application period.

At my Cc where I took my prereqs (most of which I did online), the transcripts do not indicate if a class was done online or in person, so the schools I applied to had no way of knowing anyway. Do you know for sure it will even show on your transcripts?

The classes I did not take online were my science classes with labs and my college algebra course

If the lab is in person, you should be able to petition the class to count if they don't normally take online classes. Granted, every school is different, but mine took some online classes when they claim not to.
