Me and scrub pants just don't get along it seems. :/
It seems no matter what brand of scrub pants I buy, they hurt the hell out of my inner thighs. I just think that because they inevitably fit more relaxed, the material just rubs against them (I guess). It is at the point now where my skin is red, patchy, irritated, occassionally itchy and won't go away.
My only solution is to buy some thin leggings to wear underneath. What could I buy OTC to help my skin heal well?
I have the same problem with things. Also, cuz I'm a bit heavier, the inside of my thighs will rub raw sometimes which is very painful. I always wear cotton spandex shorts under my scrubs. I find them extremely comfy (I lounge around the house in them all the time) and they keep my thighs from getting irritated. I buy all my spandex at Walmart, you can get a pair for like $7. I would recommend maybe trying that.

I have two pairs of knee-length legging/yoga pants, so until I get some shorts I think these will work.
I went to Rite Aid and asked a pharmacist what she would use to heal/prevent more irritation. She recommended a product from Gold Bond called Friction Defense. It looks like deodorant but after you shower you just roll it onto the inside of your thighs. She went on and on about how it's the best product ever invented, lol. She use to work in a hospital wearing scrubs daily and it saved her from the agony I'm currently in!
This is interesting, because I'm noticing this myself. My scrubs are super, super soft, but my thighs are feeling irritated after a long day. I might try that Gold Bond stuff as well. I like the idea of shorts underneath, but I get so hot at the hospital that adding an extra layer doesn't sound appealing. (I've always had skin "issues" so this development really isn't surprising.)

That's what I was thinking too. :/ I hope this stuff works well! It was a little hard to find. It actually wasn't sold at Rite Aid, but I found it at Albertsons (grocery store) where she told me she buys it from.
When I buy new scrub pants, the first few wearings will do this. It subsides one the seams have softened from being washed a few times. Perhaps just a few more washes?
I know it's a pain, but you could try ironing the insides of the pants and pant legs where they chafe. That might soften and smooth the material to prevent chafing and also kill bacterial irritants not washed out of the fabric in the laundry? (I'm reaching here...) Indera Mills makes "Snuggies" --a mid-thigh or knee length cotton underwear pant available online for $5.99. at www.etreavis.com. They also have "Petti Pants" and "Pantliners" you can "clip to fit" the length of your pants. Look in the "Sections" under Women's Clothing. If you're getting too warm and perspiring a lot it could be a heat rash. I just had one all down one side from armpit to groin from an immobilizer arm sling and it was horrible. Itched like fire and was red and inflamed. Had to keep it clean and dry. No easy task in the hot summer we had. (Also used Gold Bond for women, nice talc-free scented powder-- found it at grocery store.) Good luck!
I use a product called Lanacane. You can get it at WalMart or any pharmacy (I found it at Walmart around the first aid stuff. It comes in a yellow box).
I only wear skirts and used to be miserable during summer because of chafing. Once I started using this, I never had a problem again.
It is a clear gel. You don't need a lot, it lasts a long time, and you hardly know it's there.
I use spanx with my scrubs and since I'm only a student right now I also appreciate the back support from them.
Omg how could you possibly sit in spanx for 12+ hours?!? Spanx are only for suffering through a wedding or some other formal event where I need to look impossibly shapely for people I only see once a year!!!!
