Hi everyone. I am really excited that in a few short months I will graduate from the practical nursing program!!!!
The thing is...I graduate from PN this May but next May I will graduate from RN program and the following year, God willing, I will have my BSN.
My mom wants to have a graduation party for me this year but I want to wait. The problem is that I don't know when I do want to have the party. What do you guys think? Maybe I should wait until I pass my state boards?
The other thing is that my mom is very sick. I think she might be afraid that she will be in the hospital or worse and wants to make sure she doesn't miss anything.

I would let your Mom throw a party for you. She is obviously very proud and it sounds like it might be uplifting for her seeing as she is so ill. Best of luck to you!

I wish that my father was here to see me graduate and celebrate with me. Give your mom the opportunity to enjoy this milestone with you.

I've had a party for passing a notoriously hard test.
I'd jump at any chance to celebrate if I were you. It makes life more fun!

Party! Party! Party! If your family is like mine we look for any excuse to get together and have a good time. Let your mom give you a party and have another one when you pass boards, another one when you become an RN and another one...you get my drift. Congratulations and Best Wishes to you and your mom.
Thanks for all the support. I think I'll tell my mom to start planning.

Definitely, let her do this!!
Being a parent of an adult "child" can be difficult. She is obviously very proud of you, let her enjoy it, and enjoy it with her!

YESSS!! I agree. My father is the reason I chose nursing school; I'd give anything to have been able to share this experience with him. Your mom will love to do this for you; let us know how it goes! :D:yeah:
