med/surg clinicals are done!

Woo Hoo!! I finished my med/surg rotation today! (I still have the final on friday, but the clinical stuff is over!)

I got a great "evaluation" from my instructor!! It's pass/fail with a numbered system for evaluation: 0 - 5

I got a 4 = Exceed standards - consistently performs above expected level with minimal faculty guidance.

I had to brag a little! :D

I start my psych/mental health rotation on Monday.

I really enjoyed med/surg!! I was able to observe in the OR 3 times (really cool stuff) and I had "great patients" - meaning they had interesting dx and procedures. I think the worse part was having to put into writing what I was doing and why...darn care plans :D

WOOT! Feels good to have another one over with, eh?

On to the crazies...... :D

Hey Shelly, WooHoo!

That sounds realy good. Did you like Med Surge? I think it sounds interesting but few people would agree.

Phsych should be interesting. I cant believe yall dont get some kind of break between.

I'm envious and glad for ya.

Holler,

P

Heh! I hear it's the "boring rotation" cuz there isn't much "patient care" mostly practicing our therapeutic communication skills...uh, I'm female...just give me the A already :D hee hee hee

Seriously - I've heard various stories of "it's boring" to "glad that's over with"...we shall see!!!

Nope, no break...Friday final, Monday lecture for next rotation, and Tuesday orientation at new facility grrrr no rest for the wicked I guess :D

I think the no rest thing is a subliminal message that is conditioning you for your first job!

Congratulations on your latest accomplishment.

I have two more weeks of med/surg/tele. Then spring break!

Then community and senior practicum.

I just finished up my peds (final tomorrow, studying today). One week off then I start med surg II. They split our class due to size and the ones that have med surg II say that it is the hardest class they've ever had. Guess my life goes back to mundane again (not that it's been any different since I went back to school).

Congrats!! And on to another adventure!!

I just figured this out last night (I knew it, of course, but I verbalized it for the first time) - I will graduate next May so that's 14 months!! After waiting nearly 14 years to finish what I started I can hardly believe it!!! :D

It is going by so quickly! I am learning so much and seeing so much and doing so much - it's "heaven" for someone who has waited, and waited, and waited to do this!!!

p.s. In case you're wondering, I quit school to get married and have babies - I've been a stay-at-home mom for the last 10 years - I worked full time for 5 years at a local hospital before that (office manager/secretary/transcriptionist/billingclerk)

Well.. I just finished my Oncology rotation, and I am GLAD... That floor is BUSY!!!!! and for the first time since I have been in school we had a nurse that was mean to the students she had, thank god the one I had was GREAT.... But almost done.. :)

Good for you, Shelly! You have accomplished so much! :balloons:
