longest class times ever

Nursing Students General Students

What are some of your schedules? This semester just began for me and I am about to lose my mind already. It seems like we are in class all the time. I don't know how I am ever going to juggle this all semester! Anyone else feel overwhelmed? I have class 22 hours next week and I am not considered a full time student with that! It is ridiculous. I am in an ADN program and my second semester nursing class I am currently in is only considered 9 credit hours :angryfire I am trying to stay positive and on top of things but it feels like I am already falling behind.

Specializes in ER.

Would you really want to pay for a nursing class that was labeled as having as many credit-hours as we actually put in?

That thought is what generally keeps me from griping about a five credit-hour class that I spend 22 hours a week in class for :p .

It stinks, especially with all the study time added to it...but sooner or later you adjust..hang in there:)

Last semester I was in class & clinical 32 h/wk & was taking 15 credits. This semester I'm in class/ clinical 35h/wk and I'm takin 12 credits. It's like that everywhere....:banghead: Gotta love nursing school!

what i have hated is that the past two weeks we have gone from 8am to 6pm (with an hour break) IN THE SAME CLASSROOM!!! Thank god we are starting at the hospital next week, so it will only be 1-6 in the same room.

Ten hours in one room with one break? Everyday?

What?!? thats a lot of hours to spend in one classroom. I have a question. For those that have the lecture class for most of the day, do you have to be like totally wide awake, paying attention to almost everything the instructor is saying, and writing every bit of information for 8-9 hrs.?

Specializes in Surgical/Telemetry.

I agree with the original poster that it is ridiculous to be spending that much time in class, but not be eligible for financial aid because of

Nah ... we were free to take a nap, go for a stroll down to Starbucks, or play cell phone games ... ;)

You are too funny! :roll

I know what you mean. We spend about 27 hours a week at school and it's only 8 credit hour class. We have two international students in the class who have to go full time, so they had to pick extra four credit hours. Poor them! I'm not happy with that many hours mostly because of bad commuting - it takes me an hour and half to get to scool. We also get so much reading assignments that I spent 3 - 6 hours a day just reading. I thought it would be a busy program but this is a bit too much. We lost three students during the first two weeks.
