Hello all---

I just finished the second day of our 2 day orientation.

OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, this semester is going to be really tough. I am so overwhelmed by the amount of information that was given to us.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Did you enjoy your orientation?

Just curious.

we had one day of orientation and it also included pre-registration. ours was going over the information in the student hand book.

what did yours cover?

Orientation always seemes overwhelming to me. Until we got into it....then it got easier.

I liked it though....it was nice to sort of have a feel for things before you were thrown in to sink or swim! :D

I wish I had one. no such luck. Just have to show up for the first day of school which is probably our orientation.

Our orientation is Friday the 23rd. We will be there from 9am to 3pm. I don't know all the details, but I do know that we will be fitted for our uniforms, and go over the student handbook. We have to fork over $200 for the uniforms and $125 for lab fee. I just ordered my steth, shoes, and bandage scissors today for $232 and I'll pick up my books this Friday for $550...I suppose they will also pick us up, turn us upside down, and shake us to make sure our pockets are empty before we can leave, lol!!

Ours covered everything from clinical orientation, to the student handbook, to reading assignments that we have to complete prior to the first week of class.

I enjoyed my orientation, but it was so much information. We got our advising forms at the end of orientation today, so we can register for classes.

My class schedule is going to be a killer. Oh well, I asked for this right? LOL

I was telling someone earlier....I had all my ducks in a row before orientation, then they handed me more ducks, a zebra and a yak. They had us sign up for certain time slots, then they changed the times and told us that we couldn't change our clinical assignment. *WHAT* Orientation was a bit overwhelming, I'm not worried about not being able to handle it, but it really makes me angry when people do that. But, on a good note, it was very informative and g ave me the chance to get a head start on studies.

Hi, all. I had orientation last Friday, August 9th. We were told to forget about keeping a clean house and to invest in a crockpot! This worries me, cuz I'm getting married the 31st and I want to be a good wifey! Anyways, we were also told we will be required to wear caps during clinicals. HA! I can just picture myself. We also had pre-registration. It was a nice experience, but I'm sooo ready for January to come so I can start. Right now I'm taking A&P and next quarter I'm taking AHS 104 (intro to Health Care) Good luck to all my fellow students and let's keep each other posted on what's going on.

Yep, my orientation was August 9th - It was 7 hours long - I left completely overwhelmed and feeling like my head was going to EXPLODE! But, now I'm getting very excited! I'm sure my first nursing exam will completely freak me out :chuckle
