hello everyone!!!

i thought...we are inching closer and closer to our start dates, it might be good to introduce ourselves and get aquainted as we will be leaning on each other (and those who are ahead of us) for the next couple of years!!!

i'm curious to see how everyone is doing and what you are doing right now to prepare for your start!!!

first off, congratulations to everone!!!! i'm sure you are just as excited as i am to be starting in the spring! let's get to know each other a little better!!! figured we could use this as an intro and for any questions we might have for each other!!! can't wait to meet everyone!!!

school history: finished pre-req's in spring '07, didn't get in for fall of '07, but starting in spring '08!

personal info: i am married with a 2 year old daughter and a dog and i work full-time. i will be attending night classes at my cc.

anything else you want to share: i am enjoying my free time right now and through the holidays because i know once my classes begin, i will not be available at all for anything!!! i am excited to start, but enjoying the days leading up to it!

how are you preparing?: i go next week for my immunizations and i have to get a physical soon. cpr is done and i think other than that, nothing else until orientation! doing my research for the palm pilot software to help me through! also, i am requesting a lot of stuff from the in-laws to do with my classes for christmas - rolling back-pack, shoes, stehescope/bp cuff...and just plain ol' cash!

how are you preparing?: reading my texts, trying to get the kids ready to be more self sufficient. praying the everything falls into place at the right time and that i will be able to do this. and coming here, where we get the best support and have great buddies who understand. thanks!!!!!

school history: finsihed a aa in biology and i am now back in school for my rn. i am starting my first semester of clinicals this jan.

personal info: i am 24 and i am finally thrilled that i found something in school that i absolutely love! i currently waitress part-time and will continue to do that through school (i hope:idea:). i am very lucky to still be able live at home and have a great family who is suporting me through school. i have a wonderful boyfriend who is a great sport when it comes to all the time i spend studying!

how are you preparing?: i have been getting all my blood work, immunizations etc done. got my uniform and shoes but still going crazy with deciding what pda and stethocope to get... but i guess thats why i am here on this website... for answers!!! but all in all i am soo very excited! :balloons::balloons:

how are you preparing: hospital is paying for books, so all i need to purchase is scrubs and supplies. i also need steth, some more shoes and a new backpack...god bless everyone. i wish you all the best on your journey!

anything else i want to share: i am nervous about an accelerated program and the massive amount of work that will be handed to us and the great expectation that we must live up to as health care providers.

how are you preparing: studying!!! we were given syllabi's and readings required of us for the first week of class during orientation.

personal info: i am a mother of three...ages 11,9,and 2. i have two dogs...an adorable husband...and an awesome support system (all my family lives on my street...nothing but familial neighbors who are willing to babysit whenever i need them)...lucky me, right?

anything else you want to share: i homeschool my children and i have no plans to stop. the state i live in is extremely homeschooler friendly...no regulations for us...this will make planning easier...i can homeschool on weekends!

how are you preparing?: i really can't do anything until after orientation next week. so i am studying for this semester's finals. i am going to begin organizing my house and planning the chores and stuff for my husband. he's agreed to take on more responsibility at home which will help a great deal.

i am a transfer to mcc nursing...any suggestions??? i am entering second semester.

school history: i started nursing prerequisites in the spring 2006, and i start clinicals spring 2008.

anything else you want to share: wish everyone the best!! this degree is hard to get, the whole experience is difficult and then when we begin to work it's still going to be challenging so make sure you make time to enjoy yourselves!

how are you preparing?: i haven't started anything major, just gathering my thoughts now and will start monday. i want to organize my house, bills etc 'cause once i start i really want to focus as much as i can on school. i also quit my job to attend school full-time (bitter-sweet). trying to get my loans in order (that's a pain).

extra: can't believe i got in! :w00t:

my school is notorious for rejecting applicants due to high gpa requirements and competition.

how are you preparing?: reading a book lpn/rn role transition to help me better be prepared.
