  1. I have a wonderful study group too. Used to study on my own and never knew the benefits of a study group. If you feel comfortable on your own kudos, if you don't and believe you need a group, make sure you join an effective group with serious students willing to share and not depend on you sorely. Unfortunately there are some sudents out there who are very selfish yet ready to take from you. I have come to realize that nursing school without a network system can be very stressfull. You never know what might be brewing.
  2. Hi Heloise, I need ur help one more time, I have sent you a private email pls check and respond if you can. Enjoy mental health. I hear It's already boring. Well I will get to find out in summer 2. Good luck this semester. :-)
  3. Welcome on board guys, prepare to endure stress levels of 9 out of 10. In anycase it's all good. I used to be in your shoes wondering if I will get in but I did. Good luck.

  5. thank you so much for the lead with the links, we are yet to cover teaching techniques next week, she however wants us to go and do a research into it. with this lead i can do my research.
  6. I will be very glad if someone could give me a tip on the format of how to write a teaching plan for my project. My topic of choice is "Breast Examination for women over 40yrs", addressed to a group of women in a local church. I will also appreciate directions to a site where I can view sample nursing essays to get an idea of what to do and get the information from. Thanks
  7. the best thing to do is visit ratemyprofessor.com, you will surely get the input of students about current instructors. good luck.
  8. Someone Pls help me with these problems, I do have an idea of how to go about them but I am confused. (N.B is flow rate always in ml/hr? what's the diff btn flow rate and drip rate) Thanks 1. Mr. Lee is to receive IV Heparin. The physician ordered 20,000 units of heparin in 500 ml of D5W to be infused at the rate of 1000 unite/hr. Calculate the flow rate in ml/hr. 2. Little Jose weighs 66 lb. Epinephrine 0.01 mg/kg IV q 5 min is ordered to treat his sinus bradycardia. Calculate the number of mg of epinephrine per dose. 3. Nipride has been ordered to titrate at 3 - 6 mcg/kg/min. The solution strength is 50 mg in 250 ml. Calculate the flow rate (ml/hr) for the upper range if the patient weighs 72.4 kg.
  9. Hi I am from Texas; I have 3 kids (13, 10 and 5) and live at Saginaw. I have a first degree in financial economics and this is a second chance to change carrier for a better life and also do what I enjoy doing most, which is helping others. I currently work as a PCA with a local agency and love my job, I did this to help me gain experience working with sick people, and yes, this has given me experience in working with Alzheimer's, paraplegic and Parkinson clients. I just got accepted into TCC and will start this spring; I would like to be a CRNA eventually. More power to nurses.
  10. Actually yes, I just did. Call Bev tomorrow if you are still unable to register.
  11. Thanks for clarifying this info, I guess I was half asleep on campus success. :-).I agree with you, dimensional analysis is not as scary as it sounds except when you have all the IV questions that requires thinking. Thanks Heloise this info benefited me too.
  12. From my understanding, you take it with your clinical. The CID for 2008 is already out, download it, and review the info, and there you will see all the rules just as Heloisea has stated with some questions to try your hands on. :-)
  13. They actually beat us up today at orientation and left many of us newbie's wondering"My God, will we make it?" But hey, we have created our beds and we will have to lie in it. We don't have a choice but to make it. I looked at my schedule this afternoon and simply said wow, my kids. I had a family meeting this evening and explained the situation to them, had a few tears from the younger one, and they all agreed to work with me by cleaning the hse, helping daddy in the kitchen, and most of all limiting the noise and stress level around the hse when I am studying. So guys' good luck to you all and we shall make it! :-)
