High Anxiety

  1. OK, Orientation is this Weds. evening and the anxiety and nightmares are beginning!

I woke up at about 4:30 this morning after having a most horrific dream.

I dreamt that I had the first day of class and they gave us a syllabus and class schedule that was about 2 inches thick and they broke down the daily readings for us and it was about 300 pages of material a day.

I just stayed in bed with all of my books around me because all I would do is wake up in the AM, sit in bed and read until night time and then go to sleep and do the same thing the next day.

Then, my husband left me because he never saw me and I was always studying. He ended up leaving me for some guy that acted and looked like "Mango" off of Saturday night live.

Here I was so proud because I didn't have any weird dreams to talk about on the Nursing School weird dreams post then this happens.

It took forever to get back to sleep again. I'm really hoping this doesn't happen every night.

Wow!! Breath in through the nose....out through the mouth!! What a dream!! Mango???LOL!

Things will calm down once you are in school and see what is going on. Fear of the unknown does some pretty strange things to us doesn't it??

We've all been there! I just had a dream that I ran out of my own wedding cause I had to study A&P! No one would listen to me! LOL
You're going to be ok, we all need a little anxiety at times to kisck us in gear!
Just come here when you feel like that and we'll always help you out!

Colleen10, you are soooo at home on this BB. One thing that they can't teach you in nursing school is.... How "you" can off-set "your" anxiety. Sometimes, they will offer suggestions but, "you" have to deal with it.... Regular exercise works for me. But, I'm having one heck of a time doing it.

Also, don't want to alarm but, my 1st syllibus was 2 inches wide. Take One Day at a Time!!!

Exercise is a great idea. I'm hoping to work at a hospital with a great gym someday

I'm sorry to LOL at your dream, but that is pretty funny! I've been having some weird dreams lately too, but I'm chalking it up to hormones! LOL

I just started a yoga class and it's been fabulous - It's really helping me learn how to just let go and relax.

Never mind dreams -- how about having the Hershey Squirts (to put it kindly). I would welcome nightmares (only kidding) but as school begins I'll be stocking up on immodium that's for sure. I know that this is not really appropriate to mention but in speaking to other students I know that I'm not alone.

I know what y'all mean....I'm freakin out too. It's weird tho, what dreams I have had about school, I wasn't nervous at all about it. it's like the entire dream was about NOT being nervous (and woke up feeling ok about things) but while I'm awake I'm nauseaus one minute and excited the next.

This not knowing exactly what to expect is gonna drive me nutz!

Don't worry Colleen- I think we're all having a little anxiety! All of the sudden my face is starting to break out!!! And I'm 37 years old and haven't "broken-out" in years!:roll :roll!?!?!

Just think of all of the nursing graduate RN's, for some it was a breeze (I hate those people! ) but for others they struggled to make it- EITHER WAY they all are RN's now!!!! And you will make it too!!!

I read this post the other day and thought "how silly". Well, low and behold I had a dream last night that I went to my first day of nursing class and I was not on the roster when the instructor called roll. At the end of roll call she asked if there was anyone there who's name she didn't call and I stood up and announced myself. The insturctor then stated that they made a mistake when they sent me my acceptance letter, and that I would not be accepted until the following year. I refused to leave and had to have security escort me from the classroom. It was so awful.

OMG, that's too good !!! That's just exactly what I would have dreamed, too ! "me, LEAVE??? H*** NO I'm not leaving!!! I'm staying right here and I'm going to class if I have to sit in a chair nailed to the wall up there if you don't have anymore room... but I'm HERE and I AIN'T LEAVIN" !!!! :roll

(sorry to peep in on your forum... but I do enjoy the students, and love to encourage and motivate where I can)... so HERE'S TO ALL THE NEW FALL SEMESTER STUDENTS!!! WooooooooooooT !
