Nursing Students School Programs

Published

So I have read some pretty horrible reviews about Herzing and it is pretty scary, however, I am about to start my journey with Herzing in August and I want to give the school a fair chance. Yes it is expensive to attend but Florida is embarking on this progress where hospitals are having/requiring magnet status which means that RNs need to have a Bachelor degree. Herzing does not have a waiting list so if you meet the qualifications, you are good to go. My goal is to post weekly or monthly updates on the progress to provide real up-to-date experiences that will either justify the complaints I have read or shed light on more updated information as to how the program is currently. I can confirm, however, that the school is accredited and their NCLEX pass rates are pretty high. I suggest you go to whatever state board of nursing website that applies to your state and research for yourselves so you can see where the school stands. Looking forward to reading your comments!

Hi!! I have been accepted into Herzing's Orlando Nursing Program (I'm going for the BSN). Are you staring with gen ed courses now? Are you doing the day or night program?

No not gen ed. I start the nursing core classes in September.

Because I'm in the accelerated program I'll have classes both day and evening one day a week

Awesome!! Good luck with everything! My start date for gen Ed courses got pushed back due to the new policy change for "C" or better transfer credits. I'll start the program next Sept 16' í ½í¸Š

Please keep updated I'm looking to start in September I will keep posting as well ... I'm starting with my last 5 pre reqs though

So I just wanted to throw this out there about the part I've bolded - it's absolutely not true. Magnet status is a completely voluntary certification that hospitals can attain. Also, the part about RNs needing to have a BSN just to work at a Magnet facility - also not true. The recommendation is for nursing management to have a minimum of a BSN, but does not apply to direct care RNs.

Herzing offers 2 Day Nursing core classes 1 in January and May. Night Core classes begin in September.

Ok.....

Hello All! I have been busy-busy but wanted to give an update about the program. So far, I cannot complain about anything. I believe that the program is awesome so far. I am currently in Nursing 1 and the instructors team-teach and let me tell you, this team is great! They are funny, make jokes throughout lecture, keep all our learning activities realistic, and makes me feel like it was the right choice to come to this school. The staff seems very professional. So far, I have only had an issue with one staff member and it was quickly corrected. I ask a lot of questions and it doesnt matter the amount of questions I ask, the instructors answer them without being (or showing) frustration. They obvioulsy love what they do because they do it so well. I promise I am not making up stuff, this is really how it is at Herzing. If I have hiccups I will definitely let you know. So far I will say that the biggest thing I noticed for myself is that I have to read my text, study and do all assignments given or I will not make it. Had my first test (which was scary because I didnt know what to expect) and the class overall did well. I credit it to the way the teachers teach and how motivated us students are to learn. If you have specific questions let me know and I will be happy to answer them.
