Hi, everyone!

I am new to this board. My name is Melissa and I live in Alabama and I will be starting nursing school (ADN) this fall, if all goes well. I am finishing up A & P II this semester and will be taking microbiology this summer.

My nursing school application is due May 30 and I don't know how long it will take for notification. Hopefully not too long, LOL!

I am 31 years old and have a husband and two kids, and this is the second time around in college for me. I graduated in '94 with a BSEd in Elementary Education, but always wanted to go into a medical field. I am extremely excited about nursing school!

I looking forward to getting to know you all and getting the support from folks who understand.

Hi Melissa,

Welcome to the board!!! My name is Fatima, I'm 29 married and a mother to 3 children (2 dd's who are 7 and 6) and a 16 mth. old son. I pray that I get accepted into my nursing program for the Fall. I take the entrance exam on Monday and they send out our acceptance/rejection letters around June 15. I am very excited!!! I also used to be an Early Childhood Education major, up until this past December. I had always had an interest in nursing too, but was too chicken to pursue it. So one day during early registration a voice inside me said "Do it!!"....so I did....lol. This semester I took A & P 1 and Chem 101....I will never, ever do that again.... ....this was a rough semester. I'm getting an A in A & P...but Chem. is a different story. I pray I at least get a C...that's what I need to get into the program. Well, I'm glad you found us...post to you soon

I am working on my prereqs--almost done with A&P I and Micro, then A&P II this summer, then I start the nursing classes this fall. It's scary and exciting at the same time. Good luck to you!

All the best to you who are anxiously awaiting acceptance. You can do it.

DebsZoo,, to you I say go for it with gusto. I'm a non-trad student who is 41, 3 kids and all that go with teen and pre-teen kids, but will graduate from my ADN program in 2 weeks. It takes a lot of organization and determination at our stage in the lifespan.

You'll all do great!

You go girls/guys!
