Hey, I've got a question.....for christmas, I got a promise for a NCLEX review guide.....now with everything going on, I noticed a lot of guide had Feb copyrights....should I wait until Feb to get a serious one to study for boards? (I have one already, but figure one is barely enough!) Personally, i know I'm weak on medications....that's the only really weak spot I see so far....I need to buckle down on practicing....Any advice on good guides or should I wait?

PS. I don't believe in signs, but I just realized this is my 666th post......AHHHHH!!!!!!

I have the Saunders and Princeton Review and one specialized for Med/Surg which really helped when studying for lecture exams, I bought both of mine back in August and my Saunders is an edition back, I checked with the director of our program and she said one edition difference isn't going to make or break you, it's the application of the knowledge, the more questions you do the better off you are as well

I really like Saunders also.

I have most of them. I think Saunders is the best if you're only going to get one. It has separate chapters for pharm, which is nice (the pulmonary chapter is followed by a "medications for pulmonary disorders" chapter, etc.) I also like the Prentice Hall Reviews and Rationales series - they have separate books with reviews and questions for Pharm, Med Surg, Fundamentals, etc. The only negative about Saunders is that the CD has several mistakes on it. If there are mistakes in the book, there aren't enough that they stood out.

I have the Saunder's comprehensive review, Saunders Q&A, and a Kaplan comprehensive review. Saunders comprehensive is the one I would buy if I was only going to get one. I like the Kaplan explanation of how to read the questions so you know what they're really after, but the rest of the book doesn't seem to be as good as Saunders.

Thanks all...Saunder's is the way I'm thinking....I got the PN guide for xmas, cause mom grabbed the wrong one...Had to reexplain the difference....when I took it back, new edition is a little more, so I didn't get it...Will probably get it in the next week or two....

SAUNDERS is the best I have found!! It raised my grades to "A"s!! 2008 edition followed our pharmacology class. hope this helps...

Wow, looks like I'll be investing in a Saunders. lol I have the Kaplan Comprehensive Review. I haven't used it yet but I think I'll get the Saunders, too.

I am definitely convinced that I need to buy that Saunders book. Thank you everyone! Just in case anyone else decides to make that purchase, the ISBN is: 9781416037088.

I got the Saunders book for a Christmas gift and it definitely has helped me this semester. Love the to-the-point info.....not a lot of "filler" stuff that they have in text books. I have honestly used the Saunders book more than I have my textbook this semester, and have a very solid B.

Happy NCLEXing!!

I'm glad to hear that you like the saunders book. I have it but havn't really used it yet. I have found the kaplan to be absolutely wonderful. I am only in my second semester and because of kaplan, I have been getting As on my exams. It really explains how to figure out the answer even if you don't really know what it is. I know my instructors all have copies of princeton rewiew and some of our exam questions come directly from there. I have also found a good rewiew book that has not been mentioned yet. It's called exam cram published by pearson. So far I really like it.

I do not like the nclex rn made incredibly easy. It's not comprehensive enough.
