Cardiac Drug help

Last semester I saw a thread that someone had a "hint" about cardiac drugs and their suffixes (i.e. the "olols"). I've been searching and searching and can't seem to find it (would have been too smart if I had saved it then). If anyone has a handy mneumonic or something to remember which ones are which, I would appreciate it.

Someone else just posted this link yesterday. I took a look and was amazed at the "completeness" of it. I haven't even heard of some of these. The heart meds would be the beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, ARBs, what else am I missing? Now, if only I could find the Side Effects listed on a chart like this!

Id like to see what youre looking for too. For beta blockers, olol looks like two lower case "b"s backwards. Thats the only "hint" I know

Beta-blockers: -olol

Calcium Channel Blockers: Very Nice Drugs (verapamil, nifedipine, diltiazem); most CCBs end in -pine though

ACE inhibitors: -pril

ARBs: -sartan

There are also alpha adrenergics too and some BP meds dont have specific categories they fall into.

Now i am not sure if you were meaning actual heart meds too because that list can go on forever.

Dobutmaine

Dopamine

Rhythmol

Epinephrine

Norepinephrine

Lidocaine

Procainamide

Nitroglycerin

etc. the list goes on and on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
