The PVT threads are coming very, very soon in the dozens, I am sure.

Dude. Read this.

1. You must wait 24 hours before trying the PVT or you're going to have a bad time.

2. You must enter valid credit card info or you will not get ANY pop up except the one that tells you to stop lying about your credit card info.

3. 24 hours. SERIOUSLY, PEOPLE.

4. If you enter your credit card info, and click submit, you are CONSENTING TO GETTING CHARGED, whether you passed or not.

5. Pearson can fix that glitch (aka, the trick) any time they feel like it. In my opinion, might be kinda fun to watch the freak out if they do it literally today. But I'm a mean person.

6. Wait until TWENTY FOUR HOURS AFTER YOU FINISH YOUR EXAM. Even then, you still might not get an accurate result, but if you're going to get charged erroneously, it will usually happen if you do the trick BEFORE TWENTY FOUR HOURS.

7. Did I mention don't do it before 24-hours after taking the test?

8. Better yet, just wait for quick results. Honest to god, if you're willing to literally BET $200 on whether you passed or not, you better be completely ready to pay it. Otherwise, just wait for quick results. It's $192 cheaper.

JUST DON'T DO THE PVT. So much easier that way.

(I think I need to do a webinar called "ixchel's rant lists". I've been doing a bunch of them lately.)

ANYWHO! To all the new grads out there, congratulations! You've crossed the first of many finish lines. The next year is going to kick your butt in so many ways, but you will come out the other side strong, wise, and awesome. Cheers to all of you!!! (And wait 24 hours)

I didn't know about the PVT when I took the NCLEX & I lived. I also think anyone who spends $200 on the PVT is crazy. If they have $200 to blow I am willing to take that money & give them a Pass/Fail answer that might or might not be accurate.

Agreed. I need to sign up for the GRE and I think $200 from a random new grad might be nice to help with that.

My BoN had my results posted at 7:00 am the morning after I tested. I didn't even have to try the trick or wait the 24 hours;) So sometimes checking the BoN website will be enough!

And I think you should post your advice on every page possible!

You know, I was just thinking I hadn't seen any 'please do my care plan for me' posts recently, I was thinking that M A Y B E it had something to do with the fact that students knew that our 'care plan expert extraordinaire' was ill (more prayers for Esme).

Then I realized that the school year was ending (duh!).

Something new to look forward to.

Right now it's the NCKEX questions and approximately 352,758,982 post on "I applied to this school. Who else did? They said it was going to be the middle of June before we hear anything so let's call them ever single day until the tell us something"

Neither did I. When I did the Nclex-PN it only took a week to get my results in the mail, so I figured I'd do the same with the Nclex-RN. After 2 weeks of waiting, I finally broke down (I'm such a cheapskate) & paid the $8 for quick results to see I passed. Eventually had to call to get the official results or else I don't think they were ever going to send them.

I honestly have no idea why people would risk $200 to see if they passed (which may or may not work!) when they could wait 12 more hours and pay $8? It's not even instant gratification to wait 12hrs for the PVT, why not wait 24hrs and get quick results? I just don't get it

I agree!! Although my state doesn't participate in quick results. I guess some people are desperate enough to risk the $200. But like I said earlier, my state had my results posted less than 24 hours after I tested so I just waited for that:) $200 is a lot of money to just throw away on something that may or may not work.

24 hours after testing for PVT.

48 hours after testing for quick results.

That's right and it's what I meant to say, thanks for correcting me!! :)

It's actually very sad because you mentioned it many, many times in your original post that you must wait 24hrs to do the PVT, and then I commented that it's 12hrs. Opps! :sorry:

You just gave me a good chuckle. No worries!
