[Blank] Made Incredibly Easy! - book series

I noticed there are many books called "_____ Made Incredibly Easy!" (you fill in the blank - like "Dosage Calculations" or "Pathophysiology," etc.) by Springhouse / Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. I would like to hear from anyone who has tried books from this series as a supplement to their nursing classes - I believe it's called the "Incredibly Easy! Series."

Are they helpful? Are they any more helpful than the "_____ for Dummies" series? (I've never tried those either)

Thanks for your input.

I love those books

THey are great for review, but not depth in learning. I have several.

I have a couple and think they're useful but have found that you STILL need to do the required reading... it's kind of like a good summary if anything. I really like the Med/Surg one. best book I've bought hands down is the big Saunders NCLEX review one. amazing.

LOOOVE these books. Still think they're valuable even after six years in the business...

I actually took the review class taught by these people because it was recommended by my teachers, and I HATED it. Too many cutesy words and pictures. I found it incredibly unhelpful overall, with the exception of a few acronyms that stuck. I can't speak for the rest of the books, but I thought the Nursing Made Incredibly Easy book (required for the review) was a waste of my money and I haven't opened it since taking the review.

I'm going through the Dosage Calculations MIE now. I really like it. :)

"Actually, I passed my med math quiz because of it. Oh and if we got below an 80% on that quiz we had to take it over the second time and get a 90% or above so yeah...its pretty awesome that I got above an 80% using that book. "

I know this is old but as a current student going into my second semester I thought I would share. At my school we have a math test on the second day of every new class that we have to pass with 100%. We get 3 tries to pass (taking a different and progressively harder test each time) that have to be done before our first clinical day. If we don't pass then we fail out of the class and have to wait for the next rotation. Very stressful and has brought some to tears.

Ours is first thing the first day of class. No review or anything so I understand your pressure. Can't imagine getting to make an 80 and still pass.
