Backpacks

This is a great question. I haven't gone to look yet, but let me tell you your local dicks sporting goods or sports authority are great to look at. I always went to sports authority because they had a full isle both sides of options of back packs. I can't wait to go again. The one I had before was an adidas one, it was bright pink and had special things in the shoulders that made it so it takes weight off of your shoulders. Plus is had 2 side pockets for like water bottles. Had lots of compartments a special soft one for a cellphone so it wont get scratched. Good luck :)

This is my bag. I love it and everyone is jealous of it It holds massive amounts of stuff and has a really nice feel when it's rolling.

Can't promise it'll last two years, but it's lasted about a year so far and no problems. Not too shabby for $20!

It's definitely bulky, though! I had something smaller and I got tired of having to carry half of my stuff in my arms.

I've always love Dakine and Ogio brands. Both of those are very well made and will last 2+ years.

I wish we had a dicks! I live in CA and sports authority only. I used to live in Virginia so I know all about dicks and thy are much better than sports authority, but I will check them out!

I like the idea of a bag on rollers...do you have trouble with the wheels at all?

I like to order things online because you can find things on sale more often. Search on Amazon or EBay. I know I've seen Dakine at PacSun($$) in our mall, and I found my Ogio at my college's bookstore. I don't look for book sacks too often so I really don't know where else they are locally.

Oh and my Dakine is going on 6 years old with no frays, loose strings, or holes. It needs a wash, but you would never know it was that old.

I have a Jansport driver 8 and I love it! It also has wheels, saves my back. I have had it for 4 years and it's still as good as new. There are 4 main pockets and a side mesh one for drinks. I keep my whole life in my backpack during school (books, laptop, snacks, wallet, pens, pencils, kitchen sink)

I don't know what to get but I do know not to get a backpack that is a lighter fabric by the zipper. The strain of having my med-surg and fundamental textbooks in my backpack has ripped my backpack by the zipper. (In 2 months) I'm not over shocked though since my med-surg book weighs 9.6lbs(yes I weighed it)

Also remember, if you're carrying your books on your back, use both straps. Students have hurt their shoulder by throwing the backpack over one shoulder and not wearing it properly.

I graduated nursing school 4 years ago, but I had a jansport backpack on wheels and I loved it! Great for those heavy duty med surg books and all the other stuff student nurses need! Good luck in school :)
