Any other final semester students finding this the easiest?

I definately feel like this is the easiest semester by far. I only go to class 1 day a week and now that I'm in my preceptorship and work my preceptor's hours my days vary from week to week that I'm in clinical. This week I only have clinical Friday. What to do with myself?? Just kidding about that last statement. I'm actually practicing up on IV calculations and starting my 15-page paper (:stone ).

:) I love seeing your posts! I've been on here since last May and everytime I see one of your posts I see how much school you have left, it's like I'm counting down right along with you! Woohoo, she's only got 65 days left!! I can't comment to the topic, because I won't be there for another year, but I know I'll be just as excited about the coming end as you have been!

Congrats on where you are today and where you'll be very, very shortly!

Aww! Your graduation will be here before you know it!! Thank you! Yes, I have been counting down for what seems to be FOREVER! :rotfl:

No way! Every semester gets harder for me!!!

I'm in an accelerated BSN and am taking critical care with clinical, community health with clinical, and research. I have a 25 page epidemiology paper due tomorrow and I am organizing our pinning ceremony. Easy? You've got to be kidding!

I am going on the Scholar laureate program to S Africa 3 days after graduation... and I am working like crazy until that time! I am so excited!

I don't know if it's really easier. I'm still kinda stressed out! We have to take the RN-Assessment Exam .... we have 3 chances to pass it or we fail the course, our first attempt is this week. I signed up to take it on Wed. I'm soooo nervous about it! I hope I can pass it on the first try, if not it's just going to make me even more stressed out.

This is our last week of clinicals though! And I must say, as far as clinicals go, this semester is definitely easier! I don't know if it's just because I feel more comfortable in the hospital, we can do more stuff, or what ... but clinicals aren't bad at all anymore. I finished my last careplan (EVER!) this past weekend, turned it in today. We have spring break next week, then come back for the last exam in each my critical care class, and leadership/management class. Then we take the finals. Then starting March 23rd we start our preceptorship, I'm soooooo excited about my preceptorship!!

The end if finally in sight for us!!!! :D

one reason why a lot of people gind the last semester easier is that the weeding out process is over...the instructors try to get rid of those whom they feel are not cut out to be nurses..by this time they figure that you have what it takes...

enjoy the breather

Yeah I agree with Dale too. It's like we've made it through the initiation phase! I've noticed too that we get a lot more respect from the nurses at the hospitals during clinicals when they find out we're seniors!

FINAL EXAM IN NURSING SCHOOL: 62 days. 2 months from tomorrow. then i'll be done til graduation/pinning, which is a week later.

DAYS OF CLASS/CLINICAL: 26

Now, is it easier? Sort of. I have the best grades i've had all nursing school-maybe i've just figured out how to study finally! The material is hard, still, the tests are still hard. We had to do a project this unit, our clinicals are harder (more patients, more stuff to do, same amount of time) from last semester to this semester, they increased the care plan requirements. So no, not easier. Maybe easier to deal iwht in in the sense that i know it is the LAST!

This semester is definitely not the easiest, but not the hardest. They really dumped a load of BS paperwork and group projects on us, plus studying for NCLEX and Mosby, man 76 days can't pass fast enough. We have been beating this dead horse for long enough!

LOL...are you and I attending the same school??? There is so much CRAP they've given us, it's almost mind-boggling. Individual presentations, group presentations, care plans, caremaps, article analysis, SOAP notes, journaling, tickets to class (assignments that have be completed before we are allowed into class...take a HUGE amount of time and are given a check, a plus, or a minus and not a grade), a leadership project, journaling, critical thinking questions that are really hard to answer, case studies each week....there's more but I can't think of what on earth they are right now.

I'm scared because we are through with our last exam on April 29th and that's less than 2 months away. I think of all this work that has to be done before then and it's SCARY!!!! I think it's time for a glass of wine and a bubble bath.......oh, wait, I have a 40 page care plan due on Monday!!! LOL

OK, forget my original post. I'm now just coming down from extreme stress of finishing my capstone paper last Thursday evening about 1:30 in the morning, finishing a teaching project, paperwork for preceptorship, doing 12 to 14 hour days at the hospital for my preceptorship... I am sooooo anxious for graduation!!! Not only that, I'm a single mom for the whole month of April, I don't know how this is going to work...
