fellow employees that you don't dare ask, "how are you?" or "hi! how ya doin' today?" or "how were your days off?" etc. unless you have a lot of spare time to listen. :anbd::no::eek:

i taught my kids that if someone asks how are you doing, they don't mean it, they just want you to say "good, how about you?" i explained to them that it is like someone saying hi.

omg do i ever need this thread after the weekend at work i just had!

Peeve#1: hateful kitchen worker that serves ONE CHICKEN WING to the patients for lunch and then cops an attitude when i demand the patients get more chicken after being yelled at by the majority of family members in the building for the one chicken wing. would you give your daddy one chicken wing and say "here ya go daddy! enjoy your lunch!". geeze.

Peeve#2: being called a gotdarned racist by certain staff members for writing a specific CNA up often because of validated complaints by patients of physical and emotional abuse!

Peeve #3: said CNA from #2 even still having a job after NUMEROUS, VALIDATED complaints of physical and emotional abuse

Peeve #4: being blamed for staff members being canceled due to low census. i'm the supervisor NOT the DON or staffing coordinator! the schedule is what it is when i am handed the weekend schedule. I dont have some magical power that MAKES the DON cancel "certain" people.

Peeve #5: spending hours and hours on the phone trying to cover the schedule due to massive call ins and then being blamed by the staff for there not being enough staff after said call ins!

Peeve #6: being the "punching bag" of the family members and staff members all weekend just because i'm the supervisor. i cant help it if the staff members are so lazy they didnt change your mom for 6 hours! i cant help it that they dont care enough about your husband to even wash his hands/face before a meal! i do everything i can! i write them up, i report them to MY boss...i do everything within my power. it is MY boss that sits in her office with her head up her..... and refuses to discipline these people and get rid of them! what more can i do??? i'm only ONE person! i cant be in 80 rooms at the same time, answer the ringingevery5seconds phone, make sure theres enough food for your dad, spend time plotting who i can cancel and who i can pick on all at the same time!

Peeve #...(ive lost count): being yelled at by staff for the massive call ins and them being way overworked and trying to find coverage for hours only to be talked about because 'all she does is sit on her fat "butt" and talk on the phone!' GIVE ME A FREEKING BREAK!

Peeve #...(who cares at this point): spend the whole day working the floor passing trays, passing ice, ge3tting vitals, toileting patients, answering call lights all day and then hear how I don't care that they are overworked and i never help by people that work on other shifts that never even actually work with me! the same people that only see me for at the most 30 minits every other week on a sunday night!

Peeve #..(i give up): walking around with a "target" on your back just because you are the blasted supervisor. being the "punching bag" and certain staff feel it is perfectly acceptable to brow beat you constantly until you wonder why you ever left your bookeeping job to become an RN.

Peeve #...(just shoot me now): being your boss's scapegoat purely because you work weekends so she can blame everything wrong in every dept on you because you arent there to defend yourself.

Last Peeve....that you cant shoot all these people because you dont have enough room in your trunk to put all the bodies so you go home and cry.

"why didn't you give more ice cubes. i'll bet you gave _____ more ice than you gave me." (whine...pout...)

"your water is nice and cold. have you even tried it? that's your water. enjoy." walk away.
