I had a previous problem about 2 years ago moving out of state and trying to land a job before I got a residence to live in. What would you do first....move to the state before you found a place to live, settle in first, then seek a job and take your chances. OR Find and land an interview in another state, go there get it, make arrangements when to start but only after you find a residence to live in? How does one do such a thing. you have to have a place to live first then be comfortable looking for a job. But its good to get the job first, make sure you got it, then try to get the residence. I lived in a house and it was very difficult trying to find a suitable home to fit my furntiure and my pets...this was my conumdrum. Residence first or job first? Or vice versa.

I personally wouldn't move somewhere unless I had a job waiting for me... unless there was some very compelling reason to move. Choose where you'd like to move, submit applications/resumes and explain in your cover letter that you anticipating moving in X month and have/will apply for licensure.

In this economic climate, never ever ever move until you have a job lined up with salary negotiations completed and a firm start date.

My very first job was out of state. I hadn't even graduated yet when I was offered and accepted the position. You certainly shouldn't move somewhere solely for the job if you don't have one lined up yet.

Thank you everyone for your input. I was getting interviews before I did move but at the time I was pressed to move out and took the chance. However it didnt pan out and I struggled for almost 2 years away from my home state with piddly per diem and part time positions. Full time never came and things just Tsunamied horribly. I eventually moved back to my homestate, only to find myself in the same or NOW WORSE SiTUATION. My roomate decides to up and leave me in a big house with tremendous rent....I have per diem jobs AGAIN which do not support any rent. I am at wits end. I am getting interviews but nothing substantial. Seems to be getting much harder as I get more long in the tooth here . Hopefully something will come about very soon and I can at least relax getting a job that I can somehow become stable with. Thanks again, I knew what the answer was but sometimes somewhere someone may do the same idiotic thing at a time of stress and upheaval in their life and I was waiting for that one person, but I dont mind, I was expecting this response....... I appreciate all your comments. Thanks
