What is the one piece of advice you wish you could tell yourself as a nursing student

The topic says it all. What's the one thing you wish you could tell your younger self, either as a student, or as a newb nurse?

Believe or not, the instructors are there to help you learn. They may seem strict now, but later you will realize that they were right and you learned a lot from them.

Specializes in ICU/Critical Care.

Do everything possible as a student, take in every opportunity.. Take COMPLETE advantage to learn/do as much as you can while you have a resource right beside you ready & willing to share their knowledge & experience! And remember, when u do become a new nurse, you are STILL not alone & you are certainly not expected to know everything.. So NEVER stop asking questions!! :)

Success is all in your attitude! If you believe you can do it, you will. If you believe you will fail, you will. If you think positive, you will receive positive. This is something that I've learned and am continuing to learn!

Fake it till you make it!

Stick with Optomology, pays the same and less stress!

To not wait a few years to go after the specialty I originally wanted just because it would be difficult finding a job. I think it would have been easier had I pursued certain specialties right out of school rather than taking whatever job was easy to get.
