I was 21 when I started my BSN and 25 when I finished. I feel fortunate to have gone to nursing school before all of the lottery and perfect GPA nonsense started. I admire those of you who wait for years just to get into nursing school. I don't know if I would have had that kind of patience in my early 20s.

I as a very scared 17 year old when I started nursing school. Graduated at age 20. Found out I had passed my Boards the day before my 21st birthday!!! Best birthday present I ever received and one heck of a hangover the next day!! Best dedision I ever made was to attend a hospital based diploma program.....still use those critical clinical skills some 30 years later!!!

I started back in 1999 with prereqs at 31 yrs old, and just completed my associates degree in nursing last week... ......and I am now 38.
I took only 1-2 classes of prereqs at a time so it's taken me longer than most but due to personal responsibilities thats the way it had to be.......I am going to do my BSN next online & quite possibly go for CRNA in a couple of years depending on how everything works out........:spin:
Most people in my nursing class were older students ....the youngest was 21 and the oldest I think was a woman in her 50's, but 90% of my class were all in their 30's........
