26 when I started my prereqs for nursing, 30 when I got my ADN. Will go back to school eventually for my master's, but am not in any hurry. I also, once upon a time, was a traditional college student; started college at 17 and graduated with a BA in Art at 22. So, there are many paths that I am considering... Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practioner... Art Therapist (though it doesn't pay as much as I make now I don't believe).. may even go for a doctorate in Art and make a whole career change! Who knows?

I was 21 when I started my BSN and 25 when I finished. I feel fortunate to have gone to nursing school before all of the lottery and perfect GPA nonsense started. I admire those of you who wait for years just to get into nursing school. I don't know if I would have had that kind of patience in my early 20s.

I started back in 1999 with prereqs at 31 yrs old, and just completed my associates degree in nursing last week...:balloons: ......and I am now 38.
I took only 1-2 classes of prereqs at a time so it's taken me longer than most but due to personal responsibilities thats the way it had to be.......I am going to do my BSN next online & quite possibly go for CRNA in a couple of years depending on how everything works out........
Most people in my nursing class were older students ....the youngest was 21 and the oldest I think was a woman in her 50's, but 90% of my class were all in their 30's........

43 when I started nursing school in 2002, 45 when I graduated in May 2004 with a BSN, 46 when I started graduate school a year later in September 2005. I have been working as an RN around two and a half years now and Lord willing will graduate with a Masters degree "Adult Nurse Practitioner" in December 2007.
