I'm trying to find above average A&P text books, I just finished the year of A&P and i loved the classes but the book was terrible, of course in my opinion. Please, let me know of a better reference if you have one.

Thanks!

Gray's anatomy is a definite must for reference. I am also getting "Anatomy and Physiology for dummies" to review this summer. I have already taken the classes and want to review, but don't want to spend the whole summer reading a really dry text book. I am also getting one for Chemistry so I can remember what I learned in high school to prepare for Fall semester. The anatomy and physiology coloring books might be useful to you also. It involves using the hand and eye connection to aid in memory. There are also great sets of flashcards available and charts for both inserting in your notebook or even poster-size for your wall. If you really want to spend some money, you could even get some plastic skeletons and organs. Just a few ideas off the top of my head. I hope they help.

I found the Anatomy and Physiology for Dummies not to be as good and Anatomy and Physiology made incredibly Easy and then I also got the Anatomy coloring book and the Physiology coloring book our A&P book is not very good either Teacher even hates it. If you do search here on this board there were a lot of students who recommended the ones I told you about. You can order them online or your local book store can order them and get them in within a few days Rhonda

thanks you guys for the input.

I'm checking half.ebay they've got tons of books. I just wish i could look at them.

Well, you didn't tell us what book you used but I just finished A&P this past year and we used "Principles of Anatomy and Physiology" by Tortora and I really enjoyed that book. It has great illustrations and I just thoroughly enjoyed it. I would also recommend the site

I have a really detailed book, Fundamentals of anatomy & physiology. Martin,F. which has a cd rom, and an application guide. I have the fifth edition, but the sixth version is meant to be even better:0130172928.01._PE_PI_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0130615684/qid=1053192194/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_2/103-3453976-9546250

The only thing 'wrong' with this book from my perspective is that it is very very detailed, which can be a bit scary and off putting, and it is heavy to lug around;) and it is American, which means I have to remember to change certain spellings before writing my notes:D

I also use a simpler book to help me revising, and to draw simpler pictures from: Human body. Smart,T.0751335142.02.MZZZZZZZ.jpg

I would also recomend getting an A&P colouring book,

Sorry for rambling on, but I have just been organising books ready for my next semester.

I've just completed the first part of A&P, and start the decond part in June. I am using one book for both parts I and II.

I recommend Hole's Anatomy & Physiology by David Shier, Jackie Butler, and Ricki Lewis. Plus, as someone else mentioned, do go and check out http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0070272468/student_view0/html. It is related to this book and there are loads of good practise quizzes to take, plus flashcards and useful info with links.

I wish you lots of luck! Enjoy!:D

What are you wanting to review? Our Instructor gave extremely detailed notes and I could email them to you. We had 29 pages of notes on the digestive system alone.

I really like the Martini edition of A&P too! Yeah it seems to ramble on, but reading it with the lab manual, everything makes sense....

I'm checking out the Martini....

and I'm having a martini. :chuckle

Thanks
