strange message on my answering machine talks about Green Card

It says, "if you are RN working under TNV or green call please call this admissions number, don't repond if you are not a RN or a naturalized citizen". Who ever it is does NOT identify themselves or name the agency they are associated with. Sounds like they are up to no good to me. I have no intention of responding but am curious as to what is going on with this business. PS I am not sure the letters are TNV but it sounds like he said TNV

I used to be a telemarketer (10 years ago), and think the business changed a lot and got scummier, IMO. I get calls before 9am (8 in the morning is too early to be bothering people!) When I did it, we could start at 8:00am, but we could only call the east coast, and late at night we switched to calling the west coast. I stopped doing it when they got really aggressive--they actually said that each phone call should end in a sale or the customer hanging up in your face. I say that's just wrong. You can try to sell a product, but must know how to take "no" for an answer, and hopefully before you provoke the person to anger. Also, if you aren't on the "do not call lists" you get lots more calls than you used to.

Also, the telemarketing messages I get (which is strange in itself--we NEVER left messages, just hung up if we didn't get a person) sound as if they KNOW something about your situation (financial debt consolidation) or that YOU initiated contact (filled out a sweepstakes entry,) etc. When of course, that NEVER happened. Frankly, they shouldn't get to lie like that. I get one message repeatedly, asking when they can install 3 satelite television recievers in my home. They say it was paid for (proabably) by a friend of mine, and that I'm getting $60 off of my monthly bill. This always makes me mad, because I know it's bogus (what friend takes it upon themselves to order you dish network?!?) and they are acting like you will soon recieve a bill--like anyone would be happy to hear that?!? I've had this message on my machine at least 15 times--I've practically got it memorized.

I agree with you; sounds like they get a list of names of nurses and try to intimidate people into ordering something they don't need. I hope I never have to do sales again; too much pressure to sell more units using any tactics available.

TNV is guess is temporary nursing visa.

Sounds like a facility is desperate for nurses.

How would one report this to the authorities?
