Hope this is the right forum for this question -

I 'm applying to a competitive accelerated program in a college of nursing for the LPN TO ADN program and i'm required to submit a statement of motivation-

Anybody with ideas of what to include keeping in mind that i only have about seven lines(ruled paper ) to do this.

Will greatly appreciate any idea offered.

what motivated you to enroll in the program? Finances, personal growth, more opportunities, special person or event in your life?

What will KEEP you motivated throughout the program?

beleive will get more clinical experience also be the first to graduate in college in my family,it's in a small town hence a very condusive enviroment for learning-

I see you already included some of what I was going to suggest - ongoing learning, your goals, and being able to then give back to the community.

If this statement is going to be part of what they evaluate in order to allow you in this program, I would make it very inspiring and politically correct. Don't mention finances, for goodness sake.

Such as:

I aspire to expand my knowledge base so that I am able to provide superiour care to diverse groups of people based on sound scientific principles. My hope is to eventually specialize in (insert area of particular interest of yours), but my first step is to obtain my longtime goal of Registered Nurse. I'm excited about the prospect of doing so in this program.

thank you for the ideas-really appreciate it :coollook:

I had to write one of whatever length I chose, but had been told "about a page" was ideal. I was very frank about my desire to better myself financially, though I included plenty of inspirational crap, too.

I agree with many on these boards that if you're only in it for the money, there are easier ways to make a living, but I do think a certain amount of self-interest is appropriate, and will give you the seriousness-of-purpose you will need to succeed.
