I don't have the info you are looking for, but wish to welcome you to the Boards! Glad to have you!

Our hospital doesn't count foreign experience in regard to salary offer. Nor do we give extra $$$'s for working in specialized units (all our units are specialized according to nursing). I'm guessing, but I would say, in the LA area, starting rate would be $25-$28/hr without differentials. Good Luck!

Are you boarded in the states at all ? Hold any license at all in the states??? If not they wont consider you until you have. Other than that if you do you are looking at around 25-35 and hour with perks.

i passed the nclex-rn last september in california.....

Just to clarify--- Did you mean southern LA (Louisiana) or Los Angeles as in southern CA? I noticed you took NCLEX in CA. There may be a big difference in the pay.

I meant Los Angeles, California... what do you mean by there would be big difference in pay? Thank you.

What I meant was that whether you were referring to Los Angeles or Louisiana would make a difference in the reply you needed. (Pay rates, as well as cost of living, can vary greatly in different areas of the country.)

Try www.salary.com for some good information.

Even in the Los Angeles area, pay rates can vary quite a bit, depending on what part of L.A. or its suburbs you choose, but you are probably looking at $30/hr, plus or minus a few dollars. Union facilities generally have better pay as well as better benefits.
