Planetree Nursing Anyone?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Well, here it is, the hospital I am currently at is "going Planetree" I have yet to be sched. to, as I call it, Have my chip implanted. It seems to me that the whole concept is staff doesnt matter. At least that is how it is playing out on my floor. Like I could watch a Pt gouge his eye out with a spoon, but if he said he didnt do that I should shut my mouth because "the patient is always right" I worked in retail and food service before I got into nursing, and the customer is always right, while aggrevating is easily carried out. In healthcare the diabetic that wants 3 sherbets or theTube feed pt that wants his feet up and head down cannot always be right. It seems as though planetree is pushing my hospital from nurse friendly to nonexsistant concern for nursing. Sad considering my facility has won the Ohio nurses choice award like 2 or 3 years in a roq! Any one else out there in planetree land?

If I worked there could they guarantee me I'd look like this?

Very granola and sandal friendly. It sounds like they're trying to make going to the hospital more like a vacation. Not for me.

Instead of "going Planetree" how bout just hiring more nurses! Grand Piano's aren't cheap you know! You could hire a few nurses or at least nurse aides for the same amount of $ that a Grand Piano would cost!!! Plus when that unruly two year old gets to bangin on those keys, tuning piano's isn't cheap either!!! I think I'd have to look for another job if my facility was going to adopt this philosophy!
