Moral Question

Hello,

I have a moral dilema and would like to receive advice/suggestions if there is anything I can do about it.

I have been working as a nurse for several years but have taken some time off from the profession. While working I had some skin rash on my hand that would come and go but wasnt sure what it was. Fearing the worst I didnt do anything about it. It turned out to be dermatitis after visiting dermatologist. I feel guilty for not taking care of it sooner and beat myself up for that. Is there anything I can do to rectify something like this?

It's a rash caused by an allergy. It's not catching. Nothing to be all morally dilemnaed about.

a dear colleague of mine has the same dilemma, she was told by her dermatologist that the cause of atopic dermatitis is not known. however, the disease seems to result from a combination of genetic hereditary and environmental factors. he told her that patients with atopic dermatitis seems to be hypersensitive with an increased tendency toward itching of course you know this. in addition, she was told it's associated with other skin disorders such as hay fever, seasonal allergies, and asthma. moreover, after getting several allergy tests performed she takes a combination of corticosteroid medicines plus moisturizers and they seem to work for her. following this further, she had a water softener put in her home, along with reverse osmosis to wash her body and face. furthermore, her doctor change her diet to gluten free, no sugar, no soy, added almond milk instead, and her skin looks and feels good. lastly, she still gets some flare ups every now and then but less often. wishing you a great week always... aloha~

Well the reason for the dilema is that I didnt know what it was. I previously had a contagious skin disorder that I received treatment for. It didnt present itself in the same exact way the other disorder did but I didnt seek medical attention for it.

#1 There is no reason to beat yourself up over this.. there are many ahead of you in line.

#2 Take any issues like this straight to employee health.. let them deal with it.. that is what they are there for.

Yes, this doesn't seem like that big of a deal. I had a lesion on my hand that a dermatologist told me was a herpatic lesion, it threw me into a complete panic. First of all because I had no idea how something like that could have happened and for a nurse that's kind of a big deal professionally.

I went to get a second opinion, turned out I had skin cancer. I'm embarrassed to say that I was actually relieved.
