Do you wear make up to work?

I don't wear make up during clinicals because it just feels yucky on my skin after 13 hour shifts

I don't but that is because I am too lazy in the morning to put it on. I have to be at work at 6:45. It takes me 30 mins to get here. I wake up at 5:45 and it takes me about 10 mins to roll out of bed.. :D That leaves me with about 20 minutes to get ready. there is no time for make up. LOL

I only use waterproof mascara and barry m eyeliner. i cannot wear powders or 'base' as i just sweat it off.

I think there's a big difference between being slovenly and just not wearing makeup. There are some nurses who would do well to dial it down when it comes to wearing makeup. It's a hospital, not a disco.

I like what this poster said. I dont wear make up, but my hair and clothes are always neat. I wear concealer occasionally (not to work) but people tend to compliment my freckles. I am multiracial, but Im more African American than any other race and my freckles always stand out. It is a great conversation starter for people. They're only on my cheeks and nose and not my entire face, so theyre actually one of my more attractive features, LoL!

On the opposite end, I tend to dislike when people wear heavy make up to work. For example, there was a lady I worked with that wore tons of make-up. Her eye shadow always matched her scrubs. She thought she looked good, but IMO it looked "clownish." There's a difference between day make-up and evening make-up. There is also a difference between looking professional and just looking like a "pro."
