There is an article in todays Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in the business section. It list the top five Best and Worst jobs. Number four under Best working environment is HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR. Like we did not know that. No wonder it is so hard to reach them. Everything looks just fine where they sit.

The plot thickens... ;)

Yeah, it must be nice...in a way. I don't think I could look at myself in the mirror if I did half the things they do to people every day.

But the $$$ sure would be nice! hehe ;)

i will bet that they are not hurting for money or worried about raises. it makes you wonder? while everybody esle gets 2-3%, what do they get?

me :)

The most detestable administrator I ever worked for (back in the '80's) FINALLY got his comeuppance 2 years ago. He had sent his own vehicle to a carwash, with an on-duty maintenance man from the hospital driving. A board member saw this, and began an investigation that evenutally included law enforcement, and Bubbo is out of a job, and in a world of legal trouble. I could've told them 20 years ago, but nobody would've believed it.

Oooh, Cathy, that story made me feel warm and fuzzy all over!

Sometimes karma can be a b-tch, huh?

Even if they get 2-3%, which is probably more like 23%!, 2% of 800,000 on up is a really good deal. When we had "re-engineering" Which is really how to screw your staff and make them think their co-workers did it so you come out smelling like a rose, we were required to take a 25% budget cut in each and evry department AND each unit. If our CEO took a 25% pay cut of his 1991 salary he would still have been making well over 200,000 per year not including perks and bonuses. It is really sickening. And why do we need 842 vice presidents of nothing and all of their assistants and secretaries? I just don't get how the public lets them get away with it?????
