Umm I think I read that same story in "Gone with the Wind " part II (forget the real name of book) Scarlett gave herself a C/S on the kitchen table.

I don't, but I just thought it was of interest to share. Some part COULD be true, like, the woman was pregnant....

I don't believe everything I read either. Thankfully, this Internet thingy makes it easy to research. I Googled that journal's title, clicked on its link and found the article (March 2004 issue). I could only read the abstract of the article because you have to be a subscriber to get the full thing. But it looks legit!

I have no doubt that the article and journal are legit... but who's to say that the story is... but who knows -- perhaps only that poor woman in Mexico...

Neither do I. There are some facts missing here. I mean, if she had her child call the nurse, why didn't SHE do it in the first place? The nurse probably would have known what to do.

The story just doesn't sit right with me for some reason. Like someone else said, "Don't believe everything you read."

Covering my own tail, if this did in fact happen, my apologies to the lady - you are truly an amazing woman. I could not have done it.

What do you think they did before anestesia...

I say more power to her and thank god she didnt die. But I know I couldnt have done it. Maybe she sent the kid before she did it. But how on earth would you know or see what you were doing. Geez

But she saved her kids life, and hopefully is getting the health care she needs.

Did she survive? I'd kinda think if one lived rural she'd bleed to death before getting to a hospital?
