I have a diabetes during two years. During this time I received Danish insulin free
of charge on 70%. Other purchased itself. Now to me have informed that in 2003 I shall
not receive any more Danish insulin and I shall receive only made in Ukraine. But the
insulin made in Ukraine does not reduce sugar in blood how made in Denmark. I entered
the Ukrainian insulin in 5 times more than it is necessary but the level of sugar in
blood was not reduced up to the necessary level.
It speaks that the Ukrainian insulin does not meet to international requests.
I work in hospital. Many patients arrive in diabetic coma after long acceptance of
the Ukrainian insulin.
Cost of a month doze of insulin makes 100% from my wages per one
month.
I shall be very grateful to you for any help, for any advice as to me to
survive in this situation. Without insulin I shall die slowly.
The Ukrainian state does not wish to care of the citizens of patients with a diabetes.
I search for work abroad not in USA.
I the masseur and the anaesthetist but agree to work as the hospital attendant.

Vyacheslav, I would like to help, but don't have a clue. What can we do to help you? Any suggestions?

As a general rule, it is very wise to be very careful of donation requests made on the Internet, and to donate ONLY to reputable charities. (This thread has already been reported to a moderator.)

Vyach, can you buy insulin from Canada and have it mailed to you?
If Ukraine gives you the insulin, you do not have a choice on what kind. Are you able to live in another country?
(sjoe, the poster is asking for advice, not donations. Vyach is trying hard to post in English, and that is causing some difficulties since it is not the native language. Let's find some ideas for her, OK?)
Youda--How do you know? Have you met? There are literally hundreds of very similar appeals spread all over the Internet--and most of them are from what used to be the Soviet Union (as are a very large proportion of computer viruses).
Again, caution is urged.
sjoe, I'd rather not divert this thread into a credability debate. If you choose not to give suggestions, then skip this thread, OK?

Vyacheslav, I thought Youda had a great idea on buying from Canada, can you do that? Or do you have any friends or family in the U.S.? I'm not a diabetic, but I don't believe we need a prescription to buy insulin, if you know anyone here you can trust to send money to so they can send you some, that might help. I'm so sorry about your situation, I hope you get some helpful advice!!

Sounds like you need someone from around you or Denmark to help you. I am from the states.

Not sure if this will be helpful in your location, but worth a try...

PROGRAMS TO HELP PEOPLE WHO CAN'T AFFORD MEDICATIONS
Most pharmacies have what are called Indigent Drug Programs that help people who cannot afford to buy medications. If you need help, call for information and application procedures. In most cases your physician will need to apply on your behalf. If the company that manufacturers the medications you require is not listed below, call them anyway and ask if they have an Indigent Drug Program.

Wow, P_RN, that is quite the abstract! What do you suppose the problem is with Ukrainian Insulin; or is it the fact that it isn't used right? If Vyacheslav used it the same as the Danish Insulin; do you suppose the Ukranian Insulin is outdated or has been stored wrong (maybe it froze or was overheated in storage or????)?
Vyacheslav, is there a date on your Ukranian Insulin? If, (as I read what you wrote here) you used 5 times the Danish Insulin dose and it still isn't woking, I would suspect that that bottle of insulin should be thrown out and you should try to use another bottle-- but I would not get it at the same place you got that bottle as they aren't storing it properly or it is seriously outdated. And start out at the Danish Insulin dose level with each new bottle of insulin; you'd hate to overdose on insulin!

The city of Kremenchuh in Poltava Oblast (and not only it) complains about problems with insulin. Drug stores are widely supplied with Ukrainian produced insulin, purchased at the costs fo the city budget. At the same time the city may not help people allergic to this medicine because this will be classified as no-purpose use of funds. One and the same expenditure may not be provided for from two budgets of different level, according to the 2002 Budget Law and Budget Code. Well, Ukrainian diabetics will hopefully survive till the next budget year.
I can't even imagine how terrible things are.
