How does your unit store stethoscopes? I have seen them hanging on a bar. Have you seen any good way to store all of them?

They always disappear. Maybe under lock and key would be best!

Personally bought stethoscopes stay on the person or bye bye stethie! We have throw away/isolation ones kept in the supply room.

Are you thinking of making a stethoscope rack on the break room? It's the only place I would even sort of trust to hang mine at if I had a permanent floor with badge in access.

I keep a spare stethoscope in my locked locker, but my good one is on me while at work and comes home with me at night. My good one was a gift upon graduating and cost several hundred dollars (it also has my full name engraved on the bell). I did forget it on the unit one night and I work on a wonderful unit, so my coworkers put it in a safe place for me. I haven't heard of anyone having a stethoscope stolen on my unit, but I'm also aware that is no guarantee and it could happen at any time.

We don't have unit stethoscopes except the cheap, disposable isolation stethoscopes. We also don't have a specific place we all store ours- it is just personal preference.

Ours just uses the cheap isolation ones, and they're slung all over. I keep my Littmann on my neck.

The only ones kept on my unit are the orange isolation ones. We keep them in the clean utility closet.

I guess different areas of nursing do things a little differently. As a Nurse at an LTC Facility I have my own personal and it comes home with me.
