I am seroiusly considering getting the hell out of health care

Nurses General Nursing

I am just sooooo discouraged right now. I work home health, and the clients are so very quirky and demanding. Agency work sucks right now, but I sure don't want to go back to facility nursing either. I would love to be able to go back to Grad school and get my Master's in Community Counseling. I would like to be able to open up my own counseling practice one day. Once I get some debts paid off, I am going to really start laying the graoundwork for that dream. Thanks for letting me vent and share. :coollook:

It just feels as if I'm not effective as a nurse. If I do anything where I feel I am effective, it seems I'm slammed for it. I'm currently trying to land a civil service health care job.

My days in nursing are numbered, too. I'm sick AND tired of being held accountable for every little undotted "i" and uncrossed "t"...while others are being blatantly allowed to get away with murder. :angryfire

There are losts of avenues in nursing--they aren't all home health nursing home or hospital--look around something else might be "your thing" or at least for a little while. Good Luck

Honey I think there are days (weeks? years? :lol2: ) that we all fantasize about being a greeter at Wal-Mart. ;) My personal fantasy on I-hate-my-job days is to work with plants. When plants die, no one sues. :lol2:

LOL - Don't give them any ideas, they might start! :p

I am doing agency work for the same reasons...with agency, I only deal with one shift at a time, make a bit more $$$, and have the assurance I NEVER have to go back to a place again, it really IS my choice. It does help. :)

Hope you find what helps you cope with this crazy profession of ours.
