Is there anyone who has a furure nurses club in their high school? How do I get one started. Since we have a nurses shortage- why not create the old club again?

First I would speak to the office at the high school to see if they would support the club (room space, banners, flyers). Then contact the nurse recruiter at all local nursing colleges. Also the NSNA might be able to provide information.

I work in a medium large high school and our high school is divided into "academies" or schools within a school. Student interested in the health sciences generally find themselves in the "human services" academy, I think. Freshmen take careers classes and can explore many health careers. Is your school doing this? Is there enough interest from other students? Perhaps your school nurse would be willing to sponsor you to do career exploration and service projects in your school. Check out local resources.
Good luck.

What a great idea!! I can think of a trillion things you could do to get this club going; feel free to email me and I'll give you some ideas about where you could start, what your club could do, etc. Email me and you can pick my overactive imagination!!
