Are there any hospitals that lie near the beach in or around the east coast. i figure the way the housing market is looking condos may not be an impossibility as well and may be a viable option.

Welcome to Allnurses!
Are you talking about the East Coast United States? Or in a particular area/state?
I know that Miami Beach has a hospital.

Riverview Medical Center, and Jersey Shore University Medical center are a few miles from the ocean, and rents are relatively reasonable. http://www.meridianhealth.com
I work at NY Presbyterian, which is on the Hudson River in NYC.
well i was thinking more along the lines of south carolina but thanks for info guys. also buying isn't really a problem for me cause i can receive the VA loan (no down payment w/ ab 4% interest rate)

I live in Myrtle Beach, SC. There is also Waccamaw Community Hospital, the beach is about 3 miles away if that. Conway Hospital is about 15 minutes from the beach and then there is Grand Strand in Myrtle Beach and Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown then there are some in Charleston. Hope this helps.
How about MUSC in Charleston?
