Ethical dilema? Yes/No? What to do?

I don't know what to do. I accepted an offer for a correctional nursing position (signed the paperwork today). I won't get a start date for another 2-4 weeks. Then, later today I was called to interview for a position that I really wanted in public health. Both jobs have pros and cons to them. If I'm offered the public health position would it be wrong to take it since I've already signed/commited to the corrections job? I don't like not following through with my promises. Any advice???:confused:

You must do what you set your heart on which is public health. If they offer you the position take it and explain to the other job that circumstances came up beyond your control and you cant take the position. Good Luck

I agree with the last poster. And let corrections know right after you get a firm offer from public health, so they can start contacting other candidates in your applicant pool.

Take the job you want. I knew a wanna be CO who quit after a week, and he wasn't the only one. Corrections is used to people deciding it's not the job for them.

Take the job you want, what your heart tells you. You don't want to look back and be mad at yourself for taking a secondary job instead of the one you were dreaming for. In this economy, they will not have the spot open very long.

they don't want to train someone who does not want to be there. You would be doing everyone a favor by turning down the first offer
