Does anyone else feel like this???
I don't feel guilty for becoming sick.

Look at it in this manner...the hospital administrator is not going to feel any morsel of guilt when he/she becomes sick, so why should you? We're all human, and we are all afflicted with sickness at some point in our lives. Sickness should not evoke feelings of guilt, ever.

Better feeling guilty for calling in sick than feeling guilty for staying at work and infecting patients/other staff, etc. Hope you feel better soon .

But yeah, I feel guilty, too.
    :yeahthat:

And how come everyone else can go home sick but I'm always the one that gets stuck and has to stay even though I'm practically passing out on the floor. :angryfire

Nope. If I'm sick, I'm sick. They can live without me.

Yes, I always feel super guilty when I call out, and it take a lot of courage for me to do so.

No, I do not feel guilty at all. Management relies on this "no brother left behind" mentality. What we need is adequete subtitute systems. can you imagine being a teacher and callin in and another teacher has to watch two classrooms because there are no subs!!!!!!!!!!!
    Absolutely pathetic!!!!!!!

Nope not at all because if I am sick well I am sick. I am blessed to have a great work environment and a wonderful LPN who is my backup.

Guilty?? not so much because of Administration ; but rather that I am leaving my staff (I am mgt) short handed. fortunately we have a strict Employee health nurse who will send us home (willingly or not) when we are too ill to be at work.
dbihl... that does really happen in education; or a teaching assistant is left with the responsibility of the classroom
