I got up this morning, went into work. Got there and started throwing :oup right after I clocked in. Talked to my manager,( I work on a med-surg unit in hospital) and she wasn't upset told me to go home.
Why do I feel guilty for being sick? I even feel guilty for sleeping most of the day! I feel like I should have pushed myself and stayed.
Does anyone else feel like this???

Look at it in this manner...the hospital administrator is not going to feel any morsel of guilt when he/she becomes sick, so why should you? We're all human, and we are all afflicted with sickness at some point in our lives. Sickness should not evoke feelings of guilt, ever.
Better feeling guilty for calling in sick than feeling guilty for staying at work and infecting patients/other staff, etc. Hope you feel better soon :).But yeah, I feel guilty, too.
:yeahthat:
And how come everyone else can go home sick but I'm always the one that gets stuck and has to stay even though I'm practically passing out on the floor. :angryfire
No, I do not feel guilty at all. Management relies on this "no brother left behind" mentality. What we need is adequete subtitute systems. can you imagine being a teacher and callin in and another teacher has to watch two classrooms because there are no subs!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely pathetic!!!!!!!

Not guilty. Just scared. As in having only 5 sick days a year, and obsessing on the what-if's...what if I use them all now and get in trouble later without them? What if they dont believe me that I am sick?
The big one: (Because it happens where I work) What if I get sick a lot and then don't get my yearly raise because of too many absences...
So I just go in. Pepto Bismal is my new best friend.
