Do Chiropractors Hires Nurses?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I've seen Chiropractor offices near my home, and I always wondered if nurses work there. Anyone know or work at one?

Staff request:

Please, return to the original topic--do chiropractors hire nurses?

The rhetoric and vitriol regarding the legitimacy of chiropractors is a subject for another thread--one that would be best started in Allnurses Central. If someone does begin such a thread, we'll still expect courtesy amidst the dissent. Well-reasoned and civilly-expressed debate are far more convincing than shouting and bandying about words like idiot, quack, fraud, and jerk.

Thank you.

I have been to a number of chiropractic offices and have yet to see a nurse in any of them. I take that back. I did see a nurse practitioner in one of them who prescribed meds and administered cortisone and other injections. But other than that, the bulk of patient care (besides chiropractic adjustments) was done by MAs and chiropractic techs. All of the ones I've seen had separate people to handled the office work/billing.

Because the authority over the office is a chiropractor, I'm not sure how this would line up with the Nurse Practice Acts in various states. That would be something to look into.

divarn....at least summit actually read what I wrote...well most of it anyway ;-) (sorry for the run-ons....I get passionate) but all you brought up was how many cases of Autism I cured? I never once said I cured ANYTHING, nor did I say CHIROPRACTIC cured anything, especially Autism...I was defending the science of it all, just like the science of modern medicine, which I have chosen to add to my skill set, thats all....If you are going to reply to a thread, have the decency to educate yourself on what the posted stated before you do...
