CCNE Accreditation is important???( Urgent )

hi all!

i accepted american university of health sciences, and i heard this bsn program don't have ccne accreditation.

i will go for a master's program, and my main goal is to become an np.what is the most important things for ccne accreditation? how can i know this program do have ccne accreditation? please, give me great advice!

You really do need to attend an accredited program if you think there is any possibility you will want to further your nursing education past the entry-level.

It would be terribly difficult to gain admission to an NP/graduate degree program if your pre-licensure nursing degree is from an unaccredited program.

Is the program accredited by the NLNAC? As far as BSN programs are concerned, NLN accreditation is equivalent to CCNE accreditation.

To be frank, it needs to be accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.....if not you will be wasting your time AND money.

Don't go to a school that's not accredited.....look on their websites and they have a list of schools that are accredited.

I just checked both the CCNE and NLNAC websites for this school's accreditation status, and it wasn't even listed. So, it doesn't appear to have either accreditation. You better run away from this "school" as far and as fast as possible. Sorry to disappoint you, but yes accreditation by either the CCNE or NLNAC is vital for a BSN program (if you expect the degree to mean anything to an employer or future graduate school, that is). Do NOT attend a school that is not accredited by CCNE or NLNAC because it may be very very difficult to ever get accepted into a graduate program (i.e., masters, doctorate).

Even if you think you will NEVER EVER go to grad school, go to an accredited school for your nursing degree. I swore I would not return to school, but fast-forward 25 years and I'm going for my masters. I will graduate at the end of the year! Make sure the program is accredited.

Many hospitals here in Denver require your BSN to have either CCNE or NLNAC accreditation -- let alone the graduate schools. The military also requires BSN to have graduated from schools accredited by one of these two bodies.

Speak to the graduate schools you are anticipating applying to and they will give you the definitive answer you are seeking.

I'm not sure about it. What is NLNAC? If they have NLNAC,is it same thing with CCNE accreditation??

Nursing programs are accredited by NLN or CCNE. The accreditation agency needs to be one of these two. NLNAC is the same thing as NLN, by the way.

oh my god.... thank you so much for let me know this. it really helps!

so, what if i just want to get bsn and go to the hospital. in other words, if i just give up to go master program, and plan to work in the hospital. do you think, is it okay that way?? the reason why is because i only got an acceptance letter from this school so far. my all pre-requisites classes will expire (they are almost over 5 years) and i want to keep my goal for become a nurse. that is my dream...
