Can traffic tickets prevent you from becoming a nurse?

I have 2 red light violation tickets because I "failed to stop at a red light". When in truth, both of those tickets were from a 'right turn on red' and It never occurred to me that you had to stop completely before turning at a red light even when their is no traffic. (I have only been driving for about 1 month now). But now I know this.

My first ticket was unpaid and occurred a late fee because my mom told me she was going to pay it but she "forgot". And for my recent ticket, I am paying for it myself because I no longer trust anyone to pay it for me.

However, I am now afraid of getting a speeding ticket because the road I drive on everyday to get to work at a speed limit about 40-45 mph (there was no posted speed limit at the time), now has a posted speed limit of 30 mph because of road construction which claims to be photo enforced if not folllowed.

That fine would be $375. And I believe that sign has been there since construction has been going on for a while now, and I only just spotted that (shameful I know). So I might have been speeding every single time I went on that road.

Then on top of that, I was so afraid of not going the correct speed limit on that road that I did a rolling stop at the stop sign (more like slowed my speed a little bit) and went right through it and I'm pretty sure the cameras saw that one.

So the question is...will all this affect me from becoming a nurse? I swear that I do not purposely try to disobey the law and I'm still learning how to drive as I just received my license a month 1/2 ago.

The only traffic infraction that counts for anything related to employment (unless you drive for a living) is a DUI. Don't get one of those. The rest of them (whether or not you pay them) don't really count for anything.

reckless driving may get you, but that would not apply to anything you have mentioned. and yes, the law on right turns is "after a full complete cessation of forward motion"

No. Traffic tickets wont stop you from becoming a nurse.

Yes, it will. No nurse has ever gotten a traffic ticket ever. Ever.

I hope you realize how silly that is.

Every states wording is different but my state specifically says "except traffic violations" on the reporting form when applying for nclex. You are good just don't get a dui or anything serious like that.

in nc doctors can keep their medical license and even get cushy state jobs making 200k plus a year , EVEN WHEN THEY ARE FELON CHILD MOLESTERS. I think you are on safe ground with some traffic tickets. good luck nursing when that time comes

It won't stop you from being a nurse, but you well may get dinged pretty badly on your car insurance if you keep getting tickets for moving violations.

I better call the FL BON about that expired meter ticket ASAP [emoji57]

I've had several speeding tickets and one was doing 60 in a 35 when I was 18. I think at one point I had 5/7 points on my license. None of them have hindered me in becoming a nurse. My insurance was high as heck until they fell off my record though.
