Anyone Else a Fan of Dr. OZ?

If you ever wondered how to instruct your patient regarding health issues, see, look, hear an expert, the great and powerful Dr. Oz (haha!)! And I thought at first he was a nurse! Anyone as good at explaining things simply and thoroughly has got to be, right? Boy, was I ever surprised!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

and by what reasoning would he bite the hand that made him as famous as he'd ever had hoped to be? actually i've never seen anyone confront oprah ever, over anything except the one very brave christian lady who confronted oprah on her multifaceted new age beliefs. thanks dear oprah for your clemency, how you nearly had zeus spear her with lightening rods or sent her to the lion's den!

Yeah, it's more an indictment of her than him but still, I guess I'd hope that he could come up with a way to tactfully disagree with some of the whacky stuff. Regardless, he does an immense amount of good.

I'm actually more a fan of Dean Edell, though.

Dr. Oz is an MD not a psychiatrist-it's not his job to do that. That's Dr. Phil's line of work!!

But there are whacky people doing whacky things, and I don't blame Oprah for that. She's just bringing it to the spotlight and bring to the viewer's attention.:D

I stand corrected-psychiatrists are doctors who have not earned their medical degree. Whew, before I get slammed!!!!:cool:

As an MD I would hope that he would address the quackery that's pushed as 'science' by so many of Oprah's guests. Maybe now that Oprah's going to end her show in 2011 and that Dr. Oz is becoming a media giant in his own right, he will.

I'll still take Dean Edell over Dr. Oz for rational assessments of health-related information... different angles and different topics, though.

I switched from "The Doctors" show to "Dr. Oz". Anyone else see the trucker who lost all that weight? I think his name is Rocko.

I agree with your statement..And there's a difference between whacky and quackery-if quackery had been initially stated then my response would have been different. And Dr. Oz can and will become a media giant whether Oprah ends her show or not-history shows that once on Oprah your presence and ideas become more known....:twocents:
