I currently work part time 6 days a pay at a facility that I think is on its way to some improvements. I am thinking of accepting a PRN postition at another facility. The reason I am thinking of doing this is because I am currently on med leave and I know shortly after I go back I will have to have another med leave for more surgery. I dont want to get burned out where I work now but I do think it would be smart for me to increase my income and try to save up for my next surgery. Plus I would kind of like

to avoid getting struck in a rut and be fearful of working anywhere else. I would not pick up alot of hours just enough to try to save a little. So what does everybody think? I am also thinking it wouldnt hurt to broaden my horizons. Anyone willing to give me advise or their oppinions? BTW cant find my dictionary so can you tell me am I spelling oppinions correctly? Thanks

My opinion is that working more than one place can be very beneficial. Until I found a job that I thought I could live with full time, I worked per diem several different places at once.

The only thing that might cause problems is a particular facility's requirement for per diem employment. Be sure to verify how many hours you are expected to make yourself available, and whether you have to be available a certain number of weekend shifts, holidays, etc.

I agree with Jemb. I find it is helpful to my psyche as well to have 2 different workplaces...keeps my perspective and helps not to burn out on the politics of one place.

Good luck and hope you find something Angelbear!.

Sounds like a good idea. Hope you are feeling better soon.
