Does anyone know if you can do your initial ACLS certification online? And if you do, can you give me the info. It will be most appreciated!:)

The only ACLS I know of online, is one that isn't sanctioned by the AHA, and many hospitals don't accept it. Also the course states it is for re-certs only. I wouldn't waste my money, as they are very vague with their info.

I would NOT recommend this.

There are state guidelines about who can teach, etc. Just like who can teach CPR. There must be proper "certification" of the instructors and the course. Be careful.
Also there's nothing like that one-on-one feedback when you're taking the class. Plus you have to demonstrate your skills.
exactly tweety. and remember, just like any credential, you are ASSUMED to be competent when credentialed. (a legal liability perhaps?)
I don't see how competency can be achieved in a skill like ACLS online. At least for first-timers.

Let's see if I can do this.....
Here's the website I found for this.

Sorry I can't link it, just cut and paste it. I have heard that it does meet all necessary requirements for recert.
Good luck.
Oops I misread your initial post. Didn't realize you're doing an INITIAL course.
No way, no how could you do it online. Bummer for you, but more of a bummer for your patient if they need the skills and you don't know them cuz you didn't run through the scenarios with an instructor during practice sessions or testing.
